Language and Speech are the essence of communication. Language is defined as the ability to acquire and use complex systems of communication. When they are first born infants communicate by crying, smiling, and even pointing. As they grow older they start to attempt to use language to communicate. Language allows kids to communicate with more nuance and specificity. Speech is defined as the vocalized form of communication. Most language involves speech. At Gulshan Hill Public School we focus on building foundational communicative skills. Then we give children the necessary opportunities to practice and develop these skills. At Gulshan Hill Public School We have a holistic approach to language. We believe in the importance of grammar as well as good manners. We also believe in the importance of exposing children to other languages so that they know that the world is a wonderful place full of a multitude of rich cultures. With older students we will even start to familiarize them with written language. But don’t worry, we won’t teach your children about sarcasm; they can discover it on their own in their teens.

Tennis

About This Course
Age: 2-5 Years
Activities: Balance, Eye hand coordination
Available Seats 6
Course Type Sports
Price included for full-time students

I’m very excited to be Gulshan Hill Public School tennis teacher.  I played tennis all my life and it was an amazing experience.  I would love to share my passion for the sport with young students that will have a skill they could enjoy and benefit for life. I believe tennis is one of those lifelong sports than can be learned and enjoyed at any age and I really mean that. The main thing you need is enough energy to run around the court—and kids have that in spades. Don’t worry if your child isn’t the next Serena Williams, or you might think your child is too young.  Tennis is a great activity for even as young as two year olds, a thoughtfully constructed fun and play program that improves coordination, balance, arm and leg strength, and sportsmanship.  When I mention two years old, it doesn’t mean that they start learning forehands and backhands.  Instead we start from the very basics, playing with the ball, catching, throwing, bouncing and rolling it, holding a racquet, and slowly with time transitioning to swinging and connecting with the ball and court.  Our program will also incorporate story telling where kids will use their imagination and at the same time will be executing specific training activities in a playful way.  Very simple, fun, and proactive process that is wonderful for child development.

It is an important part of our child care curriculum because young children even adults like us generally love the sound of music. We use music and singing to introduce children to our daily routines such as circle time, transitioning to next activities, clean-up time, nap time, etc. We sing soothing songs, teach children to recite or sing nursery songs and rhymes, and also teach them action songs during music and movement such as marching in a parade around the classroom. Music promotes children’s development in multiple domains, it helps in self-regulation, and helps build their social and emotional skills.

We offer an assortment of art and crafts activities from beginning art to classroom projects using tempera paints and other mediums. We do most of the art activities that are suitable to any age range from two and older. We prepare art activities for young children that focus on the process of creating art rather than the outcome. They try new materials for exploration and sensory experience such as colored sand and glue to make doodle art, make prints using vegetables or fruits, mix up colors, finger painting, etc. In addition, a toddler’s mind can be creative without even trying, so we allow them to explore and find out what they come up with using sticker art and other available materials.

Soccer

Available Seats 17

Soccer is the most popular on the team sport on the planet and also a great way to exercise. Soccer is great because you get to practice aerobic activity as well as fine motor skills. Children also get the opportunity to be introduced to the concept of the team.  Children will get to run around, kick the ball to each other and feel a sense of accomplishment when it goes in the net.  We start with very basic skills like kicking the ball lightly while walking. It is perfectly normal for it to take a while before this metamorphoses in to something resembling dribbling. Eventually our children will be dribbling passing and shooting.  Our children will also learn about aspects of soccer like jerseys and mascots. This should facilitate some fun art projects!  The most important part of soccer is that our children will have a fun time and build their self confidence and sense of community.

In this way, vocabulary is enhanced as they learn to describe using colors, shapes, and numbers.

Science for Young Children: Young children are naturally curious, inquisitive, excited, interested in exploring and eager to try new things. To encourage and pique their interest, we help children learn to develop problem-solving, critical thinking and communication life skills through simple observation and discovery of living or non-living things around in and out of the classroom environment. This may sound like a higher level of teaching and learning but remember that mostly two year olds become curious at this young age. Carefully planned indoor or outdoor activities for exploration and discovery will provide kids the exposure to experience things found in the natural environment.
